Cheese of the Month Club

Cheese of the Month Club

from $60.00

Our Cheese of the Month Club started as a means of supporting small, regional artisan producers during the hardship of COVID. It was an enormous success, and we’re proud to have given a little boost to the hard working folk who provide us with nourishment and joy. Each month, we also gave 10% of our Club’s sales to a Charity or Agricultural Organization doing something we thought noble. We’ll be keeping that custom moving forward, but expanding the selection a bit to include cheeses from across the US and the world. Each month will feature small-batch products made by real humans with genuine love for the products they bring to market. Three cheeses, a curated sweet or savory condiment, and crackers or biscuits are always included. Some months may include an added bonus. Descriptions of what you’ll enjoy will always be included with your box.

MARCH

10% of our Cheese of the Month sales go to an organization with a mission we are honored to support. In March, we’ll to contribute to the Food Bank of Hudson Valley , providing community and nourishment to our neighbors in need.

Available the third weekend of each month.

Tier I

Capriole Tea Rose (goat, Greenville, IN) - - We can’t think of a better cheese to usher in spring. A fresh goat’s milk cheese coated in herbs and edible flowers, Tea Rose is tangy, lactic, and spreadable. Approx 6oz.

Marisa (sheep, LaValle, WI) - Marisa is a sweet and mellow sheep’s milk cheese—qualities that reminded cheese maker Sid of his daughter, for whom he named the cheese. Approx 6oz

Cottonwood Cheddar (raw cow, Durham, KS) - This cheddar is aged with a unique process that enables the development of a full, almost sweet flavor without the acid bite typical of an aged cheddar. Approx 6oz

Effie’s Corn Biscuits (Buffalo, NY) - These biscuits hail from the Boston area, but their origins trace to Scotland via Nova Scotia. They’re delicious enough to eat on their own, but not too overpowering to enjoy with your cheese. Try them with the Tea Rose. Thank us later. 7oz

Cellar Door Blueberry Jam with Ghost Pepper (Grand Rapids, MI) - Some approachable heat. Michigan blueberries. Nuff said. 9oz

Tier II

All of the above, plus:

Dried Wild Ramps (Adirondack Mountains, NY) - Coming to us from Burlap & Barrel, these leaves were hand-picked in April & May 2021, then dried and ground. Farmers’ market devotees may recognize that ramps are one of the first signs of spring. Use as an oniony garnish. 0.9oz

Carolina Gold Rice (Edisto Island, SC) - This is the real deal low-country rice. Known as the “grandfather of long-grain rice,” this is nutty, floral, and savory all at the same time. We used it to make Gumbo, but the possibilities are endless. 24oz
